Cream of Wheat, and a Big Kid Cup
I finally get it. Up until now, I just didn't see what Mommy and Daddy liked about Cream
of Wheat. When they have tried to feed it to me in the past, I turned up my nose, clamped
shut my mouth, and would have absolutely none of it. But today, I had a whole array of
hot cereal. I ate my own oatmeal first, made exactly like I like it, with peaches and
cinnamon. Then I was supposed to be done, but I wanted to taste Mommy's grits. They were
yummy, too. The grits eventually ran out, and there was nothing left to do but try some
of Daddy's Cream of Wheat. Something about sitting in Daddy's lap, eating out of Daddy's
bowl, from Daddy's spoon made it very appealing. Yummy! I hope I'll be having Cream of
Wheat more often.
At lunch time, with the memory of my breakfast triumph still fresh, I decided that I wanted
to try drinking from a big kid cup - no spill-proof spout for me. I wasn't perfect at it, but
it wasn't a complete disaster. I still like my sippy cup better, because it doesn't require
so much concentration. But I could get used to this big kid cup thing.
