Trains, Toddzilla, and a Doll
I got trains for Christmas. Mommy and Daddy got me a basic set. Uncle Drew and Aunt Randie got me a cool sling bridge. Nana Sharrie got me a sweet mountain pass, complete with "adventure sounds." ("Adventures," by the way, sound like falling rocks, train whistles, and owls hooting.) I still am more likely to behave like "Toddzilla" -- trampling the tracks, lifting the cars in the air, and chucking them across the room -- than I am to drive the trains on the track. But I am digging playing with the trains, nonetheless. When the train passes through the mountain tunnel, the "adventure sounds" are activated. This would be inspiration to make sure the trains stay on the track, except that there is also a button on the top of the mountain that I know how to push. That button also activates the adventure. I am learning young that there is, almost without exception a workaround for everything.

Wanted to also share about another toy I got recently. My friend Mrs. Atkinson (who, incidentally, was my first non-family babysitter - see my May 19, 2005 blog entry) gave me a really neat present last month. It is a doll that helps me learn to work zippers, buttons, snaps, velcro, laces, etc. I named him Mike, and I really love him. I especially love to take his vest off and put it back on (with Mommy's help) over and over and over and over and over and over and over .... You get the point. Anyway, Mommy took a picture of me and Mike so I could share it.
