Today's pictures show two of my favorite things these days. First, the boomerang. Mommy told me that Papa brought this boomerang back for her from a trip he took "down under" while he was still in the Navy. That was at least 25 years ago! It has been in my room as a decoration for my whole life. Recently, I discovered it sitting on the trim above the closet door, and it has been a favorite plaything ever since. I can't quite say 'boomerang' yet - it's a 'buh', like pretty much every other b-word in my arsenal - but Mommy and Daddy keep trying to help me get it. Even though I can't quite pronounce it, by pointing and saying "buh," they know I want it. And I like to hold it while I get my diaper changed. I like to tap Mommy on the shoulder and back with it. Sometimes I also like to whack her in the face with it, though she objects to that for some reason. Anyway, I LOVE the boomerang. I also LOVE pretending I don't know where something is. And I love making the "Huh???" face and doing the "Beats Me!!" gesture that are captured in the picture on the bottom left. "HUH???" is, by far, my favorite expression these days. I create reasons to use it. I will throw my cool light-up ball across the room and Mommy will ask me where it went and I can make say, "Huh???" Or I will drop my spoon, covered in yogurt and beets onto the dining room rug while Mommy isn't looking, and when she asks me where it went, I can say, "Huh???" Being a toddler is fun!
