Luna the Dog Comes to Visit
The Glass family went to Illinois for the weekend, so their dog Luna got to come and stay
at our house. At first I was a little shy and a bit scared, because Luna is a big dog, and
she has lots of energy. And she did knock me down a few times on accident. But after
a while, I got used to having her around, and I even really liked her company. Daddy taught me
that when I approach a dog, I should put out my hand for the dog to sniff it. I took this
advice to heart, giving Luna many, many opportunities to sniff my hand. (This, incidentally,
was very appealling to Luna, since my hands pretty much always have some sort of food residue
on them, no matter how recently Mommy or Daddy has washed them.)
Anyway, regarding Luna's visit, she stayed from Saturday until Monday. I didn't like it
when I got knocked down. And I didn't like it a whole lot when I tripped over her long
doggies legs and fell down. But I liked watching her play with Daddy in the backyard. And I
liked petting her soft fur. And even though I made a face when she kissed me on my cheek,
I kind of liked that, too. I hope she comes back to visit sometime soon.

Yardwork with Daddy
Daddy and I worked in the yard on Saturday (Luna helped, too), while Mommy was in a quilting
class. (Mommy's trying to learn how to be more like Grandma.) There weren't a lot of leaves
left to rake, but there were some. Plus, we had to pile leaves around the rose bushes to
protect them from the long, Minnesota winter.... At least that's what Daddy told me.
