Supervising the Landscapers After the landscaping crew left today, we went outside to check out what they'd done.
Mommy and Daddy seemed to be fine just looking out the back window. And as you know (see
my blog entry from October 6th,
I do my share of supervision from the back window. But sometimes the supervisor has to
actually show up to the worksite and take a good hard look. Plus, if you stand at the
back window, it's impossible to ride the bulldozer.
And can I take just a minute to talk about litter. You'll see below a picture of me
w/ a soft drink bottle left in the yard by the crew. And I think you can see by the look on my
face how I feel about having to pick that up. But I don't hold it against the crew currently
working on the yard, necessarily. It seems to be a universal phenomenon (how's that for a
fancy phrase for a toddler!) When our crew dug out the old retaining wall, they uncovered a
stack of old beer cans burried in the landscaping. Mrs. Swanson said that their upstairs
remodel uncovered beer cans in the old walls. Is there some secret code among contractors
to always leave beverage time capsules behind? I need to know this in case I want someday to
become a builder. Mommy said we should just be happy that our guys are leaving water bottles
instead of beer bottles.
