The Great Minnesota Get Together
Today we went to the Minnesota State Fair. I went last year, too, but frankly I couldn't really remember it that well, so I had to go back and read last year's State Fair blog entry. This year we did some of the same things - like posing me with food on a stick that I wasn't going to eat - but it was a whole different experience. Check out the pics below. |

Park and Ride
Last year we drove to the Fair and parked, because Mom was worried about dealing with the bus on our first outing. This year, part of the fun was to ride the bus there. The bus is an adventure. |

Food on Sticks
I hear though the grapevine that Mom and Dad used to be quite the stick food aficionados in their day. I guess parenthood must have slowed them down some, because they really didn't consume that much. Here I am trying to get my hands on their cheese on a stick. When the picture was snapped, it was too hot, so Daddy wasn't letting me get too close. When it was cooled down, Mom did offer me a little taste, which I rejected. I was saving room for a Pronto Pup. |

Feminine Arts Building
Mom really likes to check out the fun stuff in the building that celebrates what she calls the "Feminine Arts." She likes looking at the quilts and knitting projects. Dad and I were patient with her; we were having our own fun. I really like riding on Dad's shoulders. |

Wacky Chickens
This year we went some places that Mom and Dad have never been at the fair. One of these places was the Target Children's Theatre, where we went to see a show called the "Wacky Chickens." There was bell playing, whistle blowing, clapping and laughing, drum playing,... and I actually fell asleep. It actually was a fun show, but I was tired. |

Walking Around - Not Quite By Myself
After my nap at the show, I wanted to get out and meet the people. I held Mommy's finger and walked around a lot. I carried our family bucket of Sweet Martha's cookies around and pretended like I was going to offer them to many, many people - I was teasing, of course. It was a blast, and I made a lot of people smile. |

Visiting the Animals
Another place Mom and Dad had never been at the fair was to the animal barns. Believe it or not, they were always so busy eating foods on sticks that they never quite made it to visit the lambies, the cowies, the horsies, etc. This year they made a point of visiting the animals for my benefit. Loved it! We'll be back. |
