Visiting Nana's House
I got to take a long car ride to Iowa to visit Nana this weekend. Mom and Dad hoped that I'd
sleep most of the way, but I was having a hard time sleeping with the headlights in my face (they
just turned my carseat around last week) and because the seat doesn't recline nearly as much facing
forward as it did facing rear. Even when I finally did fall asleep, it wasn't very restful. But
when we got there, I crashed out in my pack and play and slept the rest of the night.
The next day we got to play like it was my birthday again. Aunt Monica and Uncle Kevin had left
a present for me, so I got to open it. Cool! A telephone. "Let's call Kitty!" This one's
definitely going to be good for some parent-bothering points to come.
I also practiced my walking a bit. I was still mostly wanting to hold on to something, but with
encouragement from Mom, Dad, and Nana, I did take a few steps on my own every now and then.
I wanted to really explore and spend some quality time at Nana's house, since
she will be moving into her new house, if all goes
according to plan. Anyway, I insisted on having our picture taken together outside the house on
East Detroit, since it might be the last time visiting this place. From everything she has said
about her new house, though, it's going to be even neater! I can hardly wait to see it finished!
