Shorts Leg Walking
Well, Gramma and Papa were sure that I'd walk before my birthday. I guess I didn't quite come through for them, because while I can walk by myself, I'm still not choosing to do so. I love walking around holding on to things - especially fingers - but venturing out on my own is still a little scary for me, and I'd prefer not to do so right now. Today I decided a good compromise would be to forego the finger hold in favor of a shorts hold. The top picture is of me walking around holding Daddy's shorts leg. This activity is a little awkward for the wearer of the supporting shorts, but I think it's a good transition step for me. Incidentally, a skirt would work equally well. And I guess, frankly, so would pants. But it's not really pants season here in Minnesota. And I'd be hard pressed to find anyone in my house wearing a dress.

Let Me Read!
The second picture I've included today is of me trying to foil Mom's latest childproofing measure. Since I've been mobile, she's had the ottoman pushed in front of the bookshelf in the living room so I can't get too close a look at the books. I don't know why she's trying to squelch my love of reading, but I shall overcome. Gramma gave Mommy the idea to use tension rods across the shelves so the ottoman could return to it's place in front of the couch, but I still couldn't demolish the books. Once the path to the bookcase was cleared, I felt it was my duty to test it out. I do love playing with the books, but I can't quite get them out onto the floor to really examine them. I guess I'll just stick with magazines for now.

Bye Bye Gramma and Papa
Since they left today, I decided also to include a couple of pictures of me with Gramma and Papa. It was great getting to spend so much time with them over the last few weeks. Mom and Dad say not to worry, because I'll be seeing them again soon. And there was really no time to fret, as we left home this evening to head down to Indianola to visit Nana. I'm so lucky to get to spend so much time with my grandparents!
