Since I'm a year old today, I think it's a good idea to make note
of some vital information.... Number of Teeth: Six - Four tops, two bottoms. Weight: I'm still quite a load - unofficially about 26 pounds. I won't get my official weight until my appointment with Dr. Daniels on the 22nd. Height: Mom thinks I'm about 29 1/2". Again, I'll get an official height measurement on the 22nd. Walking? I am very stable walking holding one hand, and I have taken up to about ten or twelve steps on my own. But I'm not confident enough yet to venture out on my own. Soon! Crawling? Still commando. Why crawl when I'm so close to walking? Favorite Activity: Walking around holding a toy in one hand and Mommy's hand in the other. Other Favorite Activity: Playing "Open/Close" with the cooler, or pretty much anything else that I can open and close. Childproofing Status:I love to make a beeline for the kitchen whenever I can. If Mommy or Daddy has left any of the cabinet locks undone, or the gate open, or the dishwasher open, I make sure to point it out so they can remedy the situation. Today was my birthday, and what a great day it was! I got to face forward in my car seat. I got to open a lot of presents. I got to go to the zoo. I got to go out to dinner. I got to destroy my train cake. What more could a guy ask for from a first birthday?!? |

I started the day, after my bottle of course, by opening some presents. This picture is of me opening one of my presents from Auntie Jennifer and Uncle Jimmy. I can't wait to watch the Baby Einstien DVD they gave me! |

No, Daddy isn't trying to climb into my carseat. He's in the process of switching it around so it will face forward. Now that I'm one, I get to ride while looking where we're going, instead of looking at where we've been. Daddy says that another benefit of the new arrangement is that he can reach back from the front seat and tickle my toes. Yeah, I suppose that's pretty fun sometimes. |

I really liked the zoo. Here I am walking while holding Mommy's
hand. I didn't walk the entire time we were at the zoo. Mom and
Dad took turns carrying me as well, so I could be higher, and could see the animals
better. Here is a picture of Gramma, Daddy, and me looking at the animals.

They tell me that lots of kids like to go to Chuck E Cheese or
some such place for their birthdays. I don't really think I'd like that sort of place. And
I know that Mommy wouldn't like it. Gramma, Papa, Mommy, Daddy, and I went to a
real pizza place instead. Fireside Pizza. I liked it a lot. Here, Mommy is toasting
me for my birthday, frosty mug to sippy cup.

After pizza, we went back home to open more presents. I love
presents, and I love wrapping paper and ribbons even more.

That train cake had been sitting on the table, taunting me for days now - ever since my birthday party. But bedtime on my birthday meant that it was time for train demolition. I can't tell you how good it feels to have a train car in each hand, candy cargo flying everywhere! I LOVE being one! |
