Mom and Dad woke up this morning with a purpose. They had a lot to do.
First of all, they needed to get everything out of our garage, because it is scheduled to be
demolished this coming week if all goes well. No, it hasn't been condemned (though if you take a good
look at it, you might wonder). They are having a new one built - one that (a) doesn't have gaping
holes in the concrete floor, (b) is big enough to get both our cars out of the weather, and (c)
is big enough for Dad to finally set up his woodshop. Anyway, so that had to be done. Mom also had to
move a lot of plants, since the new garage will sit on top of the garden she spent the summer of 2003
creating and the summer of 2004 ignoring, since she was pregnant with me. And to top the chores list
off, they had to stain and varnish our new doors.
Bottom line, they needed me to be entertained and out of the way, as I had no intention of helping. For a short while, I was fine hanging out in my pack and play. Piper kept me company, and Mom set me up with most of my favorite toys. But I guess I just have a thing against being confined ... "Don't fence me in" is my motto. Don't fence me in, but go ahead and strap me into a backpack, though. That, I like. So while Dad stained the door, I tromped around with Mom. Most of the garage cleaning happened (I guess) while I was asleep.
