Today I am 10 months old. We drove to Stillwater to spend
a nice afternoon, and then stopped at Afton State Park on the way home to take a short
hike. It rained on us a bit in Stillwater, but that was OK. We really didn't have an
agenda except to get out of the house, so we just putzed for a bit, and then headed out.
When we got to Afton, we set out for a hike, but it was HOT and buggy in the aftermath
of the rain that had passed through. So we didn't hike very long there either. It's
probably just as well, since I did NOT want to wear that silly hat.
You may recall the last time Mom and Dad took me to Afton
(October 9, 2004)
they didn't even have a hat for me. I'm not sure that having a hat is much
better, given the one they chose to put on (see picture on right).
I did have fun taking it off and dropping it from my backpack perch, though. Mom got a
little tired of bending over to pick it up. The other picture on the right is of Dad and
me in Stillwater next to the famous lift bridge over the St. Croix River. Given that it's my 10 month birthday, I thought I'd talk through a few statistics of relevance. Mark time, if you will. Let's see.... I have three teeth. Two front bottom that I got at six months, and the recently arrived left top incisor. It's counterpart on the right is almost poking through, but not quite. What else? I'm scooting, and have gotten quite efficient at it, but am not yet crawling. I can stand on my own, holding on to something, but I require (or at least demand) assistance to get to a standing position. I am getting fairly adept at walking while holding Mom or Dad's hands, but am not ready to strike out on my own just yet. |
