I slept for 12 hours last night. I didn't wake up until almost 8:00 this morning. About an hour later, I took a 90 minute nap. Mom didn't know what to do with herself. While I was sleeping, Mom made me a gourmet breakfast ... yogurt, plum, banana, and green beans. Yum. She wasn't sure if I should eat the green beans, because they weren't very soft. She called Gramma for advice, who assured her that they wouldn't hurt me. They didn't have much taste this way, since I had to swallow the bitty pieces whole. She told me she'd try to cook them softer next time, and to let me eat them as finger food.

It was thundering and raining this morning, but it cleared up by noontime. Mom took me for a picnic lunch and then a cougar ride while she did an interval workout. She slathered me up with sunscreen before the run, as it had gotten really sunny and really hot. I didn't like being slathered very much, but I appreciate the fact that I didn't get burned. I think Mom should have done some slathering to herself. She looked a little pink when we got done. When we got home, we played a bit, but Mom was super sweaty and wanted to take a shower. So, for the first time in my life, she took as shower while I was awake even though that left me alone. How did she manage it, you ask? Well, when Mom told our next door neighbor heard how much I liked the jumper at Tumbles, she gave us theirs. They were trying to sell it in the garage sale last weekend, but no one bought it. At the time, Mom and Dad didn't know how much I would like it. Well, now we have one. I still didn't like being left alone while Mom disappeared into the shower, even though she had me hanging in the bathroom doorway and she poked her head out every couple of minutes to check on me. I think I'll get used to it, though, because as soon as she emerged from the shower, I got happy again. The jumper is my new best friend - perhaps even more fun than the backpack, though I'm not sure about that.

Do you notice, by the way, in the background that the pink tile in the bathroom is still visible behind the sink? Dad and Papa put in the pedestal sink and exposed that pink tile before I was born, for goodness sake! (The day before.) When are my folks going to get around to fixing that? If I'm going to be spending time in this jumper in this doorway, it would be nice if Mom and Dad would spruce up the place a bit.
