Ann is a very nice person; let's make no mistake
about that! But I am going on record to say that I am NOT a fan of Mom
and Dad's idea that they can just leave me alone for the evening with someone
else! Mom and Dad had free tickets to the opening night of the new "Star Wars"
movie - "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith". And rather than stay
home (my first choice), or taking me along (my second
choice), they asked Ann to hang out with me for a bit and then put me to bed.
This is the first time I've been put to bed by someone other than one of my
parents since December, when Gramma and Papa did the honors. Again, nothing
against Ann. She really is a terrific person and she reads a mean bedtime
story. But I was not happy with my parents' belief that I'd be OK with this senseless
assault on my bedtime routine. I cried a lot while they were out ... more than Ann will
admit, I'm sure. And I didn't go to sleep until close to 9:00, even though
we were on our way by 7:30. For my parents, I will go to
sleep in about 15 minutes. I know, I know ... it wasn't fair of me to make it difficult on
Ann. And I know I need to get used to different people, because it's important for
Mom and Dad to be able to get out on their own occasionally. I just think they
should have considered my recently developed stranger anxiety before they calously
left me in order to go to a decidedly mediocre movie. Here endeth the rant.
