Max Blog - January 31, 2005

It's a lot of time in the carseat, but it was worth it. Today was my cousin Zane's 13th birthday party. Mom, Dad, and I drove yesterday five hours to Grandma Sharrie's house in Indianola. Then we got up this morning and drove another three hours to Muscatine, Iowa to Aunt Monica, Uncle Kevin, Cousin Zane, and Cousin Nate's house. I hadn't met them before, so it was fun to see all the new faces. My Grandpa Milner was also there, so it was good to meet him as well. There were 20 or 25 people in the house, including what seemed to me (and to Mom and Dad) like a lot of kids. The volume was pretty high, but I've gotten a lot better at dealing with chaos and commotion. I didn't even freak out too much when I got passed around to be held by lots of different people! We drove back to Indianola tonight, too, and I slept the whole way. Tomorrow we get to hang out with Grandma Sharrie at her house before driving five or six hours back home. She got me a cool book, Max the Minnow, that I hope she'll read to me.

I'm including a picture of the birthday boy (and me, of course), as well as a picture of Mom and me at a rest area in Iowa.
